LUTZ CITY INFORMATION IN FLORIDA (Fla.)As of the census of 2000 from the United States Census Bureau, there were 17,081 people, 6,314 households, and 4,767 families residing in the Lutz community. There were 6,596 housing units. The racial makeup of the community was 92.47% White, 3.00% African American, 0.30% Native American, 1.43% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 1.27% from other races, and 1.52% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.86% of the population.
There were 6,314 households out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.1% were married couples living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.5% were non-families. 17.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
